Welcome to Healix. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Healix platform and services. By accessing or using Healix, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Important: Healix is a communication platform, not a replacement for emergency medical care. If you have a medical emergency, call emergency services (112 in the EU, 911 in the US) immediately.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Healix, you confirm that:
- You are at least 16 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
- You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws
- If you are a healthcare provider, you are properly licensed in your jurisdiction
2. Description of Service
Healix provides:
- Aftercare Communication: A platform for patients and healthcare providers to communicate about post-procedure care
- AI-Assisted Features: Message categorization, response suggestions, and conversation summaries
- Patient Context: Tools for healthcare providers to maintain relevant patient information
What Healix is NOT: Healix is not a replacement for in-person medical care, emergency services, or the doctor-patient relationship. It is a communication tool to enhance aftercare follow-up.
3. User Accounts
Account Creation
To use Healix, you must create an account with accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
Account Types
- Patient Accounts: For individuals receiving aftercare communication from healthcare providers
- Doctor Accounts: For licensed healthcare providers offering aftercare communication
4. Healthcare Provider Responsibilities
Healthcare providers using Healix agree to:
- Maintain appropriate professional licensure
- Review and approve all AI-generated content before sending
- Respond to urgent messages in a timely manner
- Use the platform in compliance with medical ethics and regulations
- Not use Healix as a substitute for necessary in-person care
- Maintain appropriate medical records as required by law
5. Patient Responsibilities
Patients using Healix agree to:
- Provide accurate health information
- Not use the platform for medical emergencies
- Follow up with in-person care as recommended by their provider
- Report any concerns about their care through appropriate channels
6. AI Features and Limitations
AI-Assisted Responses
Healix uses artificial intelligence to:
- Categorize messages by urgency
- Suggest responses for healthcare providers
- Generate conversation summaries
Important Limitations
- AI suggestions require healthcare provider approval before being sent
- AI may make errors; healthcare providers are responsible for reviewing all content
- AI is not a substitute for professional medical judgment
- Patients are informed when responses are AI-assisted
7. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use Healix for any illegal purpose
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Share account credentials with others
- Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
- Interfere with the platform's operation
- Upload malicious software or content
- Use the platform for advertising or spam
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
8. Intellectual Property
Healix and its content, features, and functionality are owned by Healix and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute Healix content without permission
- Use Healix trademarks without authorization
- Reverse engineer or decompile the platform
You retain ownership of content you create (messages, notes). By using Healix, you grant us a license to use this content to provide and improve our services.
9. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using Healix, you consent to our privacy practices.

Medical Disclaimer
Healix is a communication platform and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.
Service Disclaimer
Healix is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or completeness of content
- Uninterrupted or error-free service
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Healix is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We are not liable for the actions of healthcare providers using the platform
- We are not liable for AI-generated content that is approved and sent by healthcare providers
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Healix, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Content you create or share on the platform
13. Termination
By You
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@healix.health.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Pose a risk to other users or the platform
Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your access to Healix will be revoked
- Data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes
- Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:
- Posting the updated Terms on this page
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending you an email for significant changes
Continued use of Healix after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Healix will be resolved in the courts of Portugal.
16. Dispute Resolution
Before filing a legal claim, you agree to try to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at legal@healix.health. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
17. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Healix
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign freely
